Healius Institute announces new Fellowship Support Scholarship

Healius Institute  has announced it will coordinate an internal Fellowship Support Scholarship (Scholarship) designed to further assist non-vocationally registered doctors working with Healius to gain their GP fellowship.

This Scholarship supports the recent October announcement by the Federal Government of $29.5 million to fund the Practice Experience Program (PEP), an initiative of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

The Scholarship will provide 10 successful Healius GPs with $2,000 to put toward their training, enabling access to additional webinar exam support and group learning sessions along with educational resources to assist them through the PEP.

The Scholarship selection process will include written applications, an online questionnaire and a final interview.

Mark Priddle, Head of the Institute said, “The Healius Institute is about helping GPs improve and develop the skills required to be the very best doctor. Given our focus on high quality GP training, Healius’ support of GPs through the PEP makes perfect sense for us.

“We commend the government for providing this funding to the PEP and look forward to offering these Scholarships to further support our non-vocationally registered doctors in gaining their fellowship. Organisations like Healius are able to offer excellent educational support for doctors and we look forward to making a positive contribution to the future of GPs.”
